İstanbul meets its first international literature festival.

Istanbul Tanpınar Literature Festival

ITEF is excited to announce its second annual international Istanbul Tanpınar Literature Festival (ITEF), to be held from October 30th to November 2nd. Dozens of Turkish and international authors will gather in Istanbul for four days of café readings, panel discussions, coffee breaks with Hare, and much, much more. Our theme this year is, City and Man. The festival commences on October 30th, with a opening ceremony at the Ciragan Palace, where Turkey's Minister of Culture will welcome our guests to ITEF. Like the first ITEF, this year’s festival will feature foreign and Turkish authors in hopes to invigorate national and international literature. This year ITEF is introducing a literature symposium on Tanpınar, a diversely known and highly translated Turkish writer. It will run the last two days of the festival from November 1st to the 2nd. With support from foreign culture centers and universities around Istanbul, ITEF’s goal is to connect writers, translators, and readers in one international literary community. Please stay tuned to the website for updates on our visiting authors, sponsors, program schedule, and press events. There is much more to come!
