Çiler İlhan

Çiler İlhan was born in 1972. Çiler İlhan studied International Relations and Political Science at the Bosphorus University and then hotel management at Glion Hotel School in Switzerland. Having worked as a hotelier, a free lance writer and an editor at different periods of her life, İlhan, based in İstanbul, now works as the public relations manager of Çırağan Palace Kempinski. In 1993, she received the prestigious Yaşar Nabi Youth Awards "Notable Short Story Award" of the eminent literature magazine Varlık. Her stories were published in many literary magazines and her essays, book reviews, travel articles and translations were published in magazines/newspaper supplements. She took part in the anthology of stories entitled Tales of the 1002nd Night published in 2005 by Metis Publications with Vulgata. The Dream Merchants Chamber published in April 2006 by Artemis Publications is her first story book composed of stories that carry traces of 'magical realism' and allude to each other. She has contributed to TimeOut Istanbul Stories, an anthology of stories published in May 2007 with her story entitled Zobar and Başa. Her second story book will come out in 2009.
