Winternachten

Since 1995 the Winternachten Foundation has focused its attention on the maintenance and development of the network of writers from both The Netherlands and mainly non-Western countries. Winternachten organises the annual international literature festival in The Hague in January. More than seventy writers, poets, thinkers and musical groups come together for a programme focusing on the presentation of literary work to the public, in addition to hosting cultural and social debate. Apart from the annual festival in The Hague Winternachten organizes literary events abroad, in cooperation with local partner organizations. ITLF has the honour of hosting nine authors of Winternachten. They will debate on the relationship of their works and believes. The meetings will provide the opportunity to express the “inner dialogue” of the engaged writer in an intense group setting by sharing and commenting on each other’s experiences and thoughts. Gündüz Vassaf will moderate the meetings and Enis Rıza will show a documentary film to initiate the discussions
